FreeState Hosts 9th Annual Health Fair
FreeState Electric Cooperative is hosting their 9th Annual Health Fair and Member Appreciation Day on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The event will also include a community soap drive to assist multiple food pantries across the area.
This event is open FreeState members, and area community members. Several local businesses will be on hand to distribute information regarding physical, mental, and financial health.
Flu shots will also be available from the Jefferson County Health Department.
There is no charge to attend this event, but members are encouraged to bring new soap items to donate, or make a cash donation to the Cooperative Soap Drive. The FreeState business office in McLouth will be accepting soap items or cash donations until September 29. Donations can be dropped off from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the office in McLouth.
The food pantries in our area function as direct community outreach to serve those who need assistance. The pantries rely on donors, volunteers, and drives like this to stock their shelves and operate. Families or individuals can stop in and get food to eat, but often are also in need of personal care items.
We’re asking our employees, and co-op members to help us collect unused soap products to stock up area food pantries.
Items to collect:
- Liquid Soap (hand and body)
- Bar Soap
- Laundry detergent
- Dish soap
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Other personal care items
Community involvement is the cooperative difference at work. Your co-op needs your help. No donation is too small. We will be distributing items collected from September 1, 2017 to October 31, 2017, to area food pantries.
The event opens at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 and will conclude at 7 p.m., at the FreeState East office at 507 N. Union in McLouth. For more information about the event visit www.freestate.coop or contact Sarah Farlee at, email@example.com or 1-800-796-1989.
